Self awareness and self-improvement are two areas I really want to focus on in the beginning of 2015. I always believe books are a great place to start whenever you are looking to have personal growth in different aspects of your life. I chose four books to read this winter that I believe will help me to achieve the visions I have for my career, my relationships with others and my relationship with myself. I want these books to help me question and self evaluate my strengths and identify areas were I can improve. I’m starting off with The Lean Startup, if you’ve read any of these books let me know your thoughts in a comment or email.

1. The Lean Startup by Eric Ries : Learn how to prevent your startup from failing. A fresh perspective on starting and launching new companies/products that are more capital efficient and managing employee creativity effectively.

2. The Art of Persuasion by Bob Burg : Get what you want by getting others to agree with your point of view.

3. All of Our Yesterdays by Christin Terrill : Time travel, love , sacrifice and the consequences our actions have on others. Need I say more?  I love a good sci-fi romance novel that gives a new way to look at the world.

4. The Woman I Wanted to be by Diane Von Furstenberg: The autobiography of a princess, designer and Fashion icon’s journey to creating her own identity and live by her own rules.

  • I’ve been meaning to add DVF’s book to my to-read list for the longest, so thanks for reminding me! I haven’t read any of the others you’ve listed, but “The Art of Persuasion” sounds like it’ll be a good read with lots of highlighting happening.

I haven’t started it yet ! But I’m really excited to read it, I’ve heard nothing but good reviews about DVF’s book.
