glowy skin, summer glow, glow skinI kept getting asked on Instagram, snapchat and in person “how did you get your skin so glowy?”  I’m here to give you all the details. I love a dewy, glowy and natural look for summer.

The warmer temperatures always make me go lighter on the makeup. You’ve probably noticed I’ve been skipping using eyeshadow. Thank you, Summer.

A few new products helped me achieve the glowy skin makeup you all loved in my “The Statement Top You Need Right Now” post. There are four easy steps that I’ll walk you through to help recreate this look and give you the perfect glowy skin all summer long. Actually, all year long.

1| Apply the Luminous Primer

After cleansing and moisturizing your face pump a few drops of the fresh glow luminous fluid base on the back of your hand. Then apply with your fingertips and blend in with a damp beauty blender.

I’m using the shade golden radiance No. 02 and I really love it. The base is a creamy texture and blends so easily.  It’s also super lightweight so it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. This base can be used on its own or as a primer for your foundation. I love how fine the shimmer is which gives the skin a natural radiance.

2| Apply Your Favorite Foundation

I opted to use a foundation over the luminous primer because I wanted more coverage and to even out my skin tone. I have a few blemishes I’m still waiting to clear up so a little extra coverage for me was necessary. However, if you don’t need it you can just apply a little concealer or wear the primer as is.

Tip: Apply foundation with a foundation brush then blend it in with a damp beauty blender for a flawless natural finish

3| Set your face with a setting spray

Once I’ve blended in my foundation I like to set in with a setting spray. My holy grail is the Prep & Prime Fix Plus from Mac. Normally, I’d set my foundation with a powder as well but lately, I’ve been skipping that step. Instead, I have only been using powder to set my concealer. I’ve been loving it.

Setting my face with a powder just seemed too heavy for these summer temperatures. It’s been refreshing to skip that extra step.

Tip: Use a concealer that's just one shade lighter than your skin tone. It'll help to enhance the natural glowy skin look we're going for

4| Highlight, Highlight, Highlight

It may seem excessive but it’s not, its what’s going to give your skin that extra touch of glow. Using a fan brush take a few swipes of the fresh glow highlighter and gently sweep across your cheekbones and cupid’s bow.

My Shade: Rose Gold No. 4

I really love this highlighter because of its powdery texture which makes it super easy to blend into the skin. It also doesn’t appear ashy like some highlighters can on deeper skin tones.

Put the eyeshadow aside and instead use this luminous pen to highlight the inner corner of your eyes. It’ll keep your eye look fresh and bright. Apply a few coats of mascara and you’re all set.
