As we are in the middle of fall, I thought I give a few pointers on how I get my wardrobe ready for a seasonal change. It’s not always necessary to build your wardrobe from scratch with the seasons newest collections or hottest items. If your budget or time is tight, you can just remix your closet.
How to Remix Your Closet for Fall
First, look at what you have. Do you have really fabulous coats? Then look for a great faux fur stole or chic scarves to spice them up.
Second, look at your wants. What items are you currently coveting? Are they items you already have plenty of? If so create a new list that focuses on pieces that work together as a whole but can also be interchangeable with other items in your closet.
Finally, mix it up. Pull out your fave fall items you already owned and match it with you new items.
Let’s breakdown my look as an example.
When I looked at my wardrobe, I know I have a lot of jeans.Y’all know I love denim! When I’m creating a list of items to add to my closet this season, I’ll put denim at the bottom. I have been wanting to build up my coat selection and had my eye on this gray number by the fifth. It was perfect because it was the color and length I wanted but would easily go with most items I already owned. Next, I knew I wanted a new purse since I only buy a few a year. I love the one I scored by Danielle Nicole from Nordstrom because of the color, so gorgeous. Finally, I chose a pair of my favorite denim and a cozy crop top sweater from my closet. Voila, I have a chic fall look by only buying two new items. Let me know which items you plan to remix your look with. Until next time…
