How to Rock a Denim Top This Fall Season
I wanted to share some tips on how to rock a denim top this fall season since y’all know how much I love denim. Since I consistently wear denim I’m always searching for ways to keep it fresh and fun in my everyday outfits. One of the ways I’ve been reinventing it this season is with denim tops. I love that denim tops can be classic or have bolder details. The one I’m wearing is from Stylekeepers which is a fave online destination for me lately. The top has this beautiful mix of what I’d describe as bishop style sleeves and peasant style cuffs reminiscent of the renaissance era. I love that top gives all the interest my look needs so everything else is easy to keep simple. I just wish I’d did a better job getting the wrinkles out. eek! That leads me into the tips…
A Couple Tips
Tip 1: Make sure your top is the only statement piece. Remember that you’re creating your look around your denim top. So if you go for a lighter wash top like I did, go for a darker wash if you choose to wear jeans or a skirt. Keep away from crazy patterns and colors. Tip 2: Add an extra layer. I suggest layering a leather jacket, cardigan, blazer or even jean jacket over top. The options are really limitless but just add one extra layer, any more and it can make your outfit feel heavy. The goal is to always make it look easy and natural.
Tip 3: Keep your shoes to neutral colors. If you don’t want to wear a neutral color then pair a lighter wash top with cool tones and darker wash tops with warmer colors. This isn’t a strict rule or anything just a personal observation/preference that I find typically looks best.
