SS17 CHRISTIAN SIRIANO NEW YORK FASHION WEEKI remember the first time I ever heard of Christian Siriano was on the season 4 premiere of Project Runway. He was small only in size with his personality glistening like the stars in the night. At the time, I was just a 17-year-old girl with no inclination that I would ever aspire to make my own footprints in the fashion industry. I watched him then and was inspired; years later his work is still inspiring and empowering to women.

Christian has had nothing short of a blossoming career since his days at Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and strutting his stuff with Tim Gunn. I feel like a kid in a candy store being able to present his latest collection to you.

His stunning collection is reminiscent of a fiery sunset over crystal blue water and white sand beaches. This is evident in his work since Christian was inspired by Jackie O and Isle of Capri during the late 60’s and early 70’s. He plays with hues of turquoise, burnt oranges effortlessly pairing them with sleek silhouettes. The expert tailoring shows his understanding of the feminine physique. Even more stunning than his designs are the women wearing them. I loved that women of all skin tones and body types ripped the runway. Providing powerful images of representation and inclusiveness that often eludes the industry.

Since launching his line in 2008, Christian has garnered numerous celebrity clients from Coco Rocha to Kerry Washington. He has also partnered for collaborations with Payless, Lane Bryant, and Amazon. There are four looks inspired by this collection available on Amazon to shop now. I hope you all enjoyed his designs and can keep up with him as he continues to grow his brand, here.
