Ever since I was a young girl I’ve been an avid reader. Sinking into a good book has always been my escape, they cultivated my imagination and fed my creativity. My mom always tells me how she used to have to pry books from me to force me to shower and get ready bed which is a reason I always loved summer, no bedtime. In the summer months I would devour books all day and night into the wee hours of the morning before finally dozing off. I read a range of genres but my favorite period of literature is the Victorian Era, so I always throw a few of my favorite classics on my list.  Keeping a summer reading list is a tradition I’ve had since I’ve learned to read, one which I will like to share with you.  So here is my list so far for summer 2014:

  1.  The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
  2. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
  3. The Orchardist by Amanda Coplin
  4. Blink by Malcolm Gladwell
  5. Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
  6. Growing a Business by Paul Hawken
  7. The End of Illness by David B. Agus
  8. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
  9. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
