What to wear on the days you don’t want to get dressed?

don't want to get dressed , summer outfits to copy now, pinterest women's fashionWhat to wear on the days you don’t want to get dressed? Bodysuit and joggers. This is my go to uniform on the rare days I just don’t want to get dressed. It usually happens on the days when I’m in a crazy work coma and glued to my laptop. Alas, even then I may need to run out to do quick errands.

I really love joggers because they offer all the comfort of sweatpants but are more stylish. In my humble opinion. The pair I’m wearing is from Express and are the most comfortable thing ever. I really live in them. When I just need to quickly go to the store I always reach for them. Just to round out the comfort I slipped on my H&M sandals because they go with everything, are easy to put on and comfortable.

I really love finding pieces that do double duty in my wardrobe. I want to be able to wear it casually or to work or to happy hour. This is why I invested in my Alexander McQueen clutch. On a casual day, it adds the perfect amount of glam and unique detail.

When it’s all paired together it does not appear that I rolled out of bed and hopped in my car. Instead, it looks like I put in some effort. No matter how much we love clothes and getting dressed up we all have those days where we can’t even deal.

As for my beauty routine, I skipped all the makeup, hence my huge shades. Instead, I just swiped on my sinful cinnamon lipstick by Buxom. It’s definitely my favorite at the moment and one I recommend in my 5 lip colors to try this month post. Of course, the topknot was the necessary hairstyle. Let me know the one thing in your closet you live in.

Sharing is caring <3

Beyoncé Tee + Boyfriend Jeans

boyfriend jeans

boyfriend jeans

Boyfriend jeans and Beyoncé tees. Can there be a more perfect outfit? Well at least for me. I never buy concert t-shirts but I went to the Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour last summer and had to get one. The t-shirts were so fun and fashion forward I knew I’d wear it. I love boyfriend jeans in the summer especially when I don’t have time to shave. Just keeping it honest.

To keep everything relaxed I paired my Bey tee with boyfriends jeans and a pair of patent leather flats from Zara.

Just to elevate the look I added a faux fur clutch and velvet stud earrings to bring in more texture. Bringing in different patterns, finishes and textures always make an outfit pop more and bring out personality. Especially when wearing something as simple as a t-shirt and jeans how you accessorize really speaks to one’s personal style. What’s your favorite way to spice up casual jeans and white tee look?

How to create a stylish outfit in 10 minutes

know a lot of you are always on the go and a question I get asked the most is how to look chic on the go. This can vary on so many levels depending on your personal style and lifestyle.

How to create a stylish outfit in 10 minutes

lay summers easy outfits

1. Identify your foundation items

The key to anything in life is a good foundation. The same holds true for your closet. If you’re typically short on time, you need pieces that can be versatile and give your outfits structure.

These are going to be pieces like deep washed denim, a structured blazer or a white v neck shirt that you are able to build an outfit around.

Foundation item: my H&M denim
2. Choose a subtle statement piece

These are the items that are going to add some depth and interest. These are also the pieces that will let your personal style show through.

A subtle statement piece is my Asos sweater because it has these really gorgeous bell shaped sleeves in a beautiful rustic red. It grabs your attention without being overpowering which is perfect for an everyday look.

3. Frame your face

This is probably my favorite tip because it’s a small tweak that can make such a huge difference. When short on time I suggest throwing on earrings. It’s an easy way to accessorize and helps to frame your face.

Framing your face with earrings or a hairstyle immediately makes you look more put together and stylish. I went for a simple pair of gold hoop earrings that really complement my hair and skin tone.

I hope you all found this helpful! I guarantee if you practice you’ll be able to be stylish in your sleep or at least 10 minutes.

In the City

in the city

Hey there ! I can’t believe it’s already halfway thru August! The summer really is just flying by. I went into the heart of Boston this weekend with my brother and was excited because we found parking to be able to take these shots. Shooting in the city is always tough because there are tons of people around and street parking can be tough. However, luck was on our side that day and I was excited to shoot this look. I love denim shorts but they can be tricky when you want to semi dress them up but I find a blazer always does the trick. It’s still been very hot in Boston so I have been loving to wear my hair in braids and buns lately. These shorts are out of stock but as always I picked out a few similar options below. Happy Tuesday !

P.S. Remember to enter the giveaway, here, it ends this week !

The struggle to get these photos uploaded was too real but here they are at last.  I know, I know there is a ton of photos this post but I just liked soo many and couldn’t choose. Anyway, this is look number two featuring my silky cognac/champagney colored tank. I wanted to put together a more dressy look that could be worn out to a birthday celebration dinner or lounge since my b-day is on the horizon (*cough* to all my girlfriends who don’t know what to wear *cough*). I’m still putting together all the looks for my birthday weekend celebration. Would you all like for me to do a birthday special where I post all the looks I wore, yes or no? Drop me a line below. Until next time…

P.S. There is one more look coming for July & an announcement so make sure you’re subscribed.

I love when my clothing feels like a second skin to the point where I forget at moments that I’m wearing anything. Then, I frantically grasp at my chest just to realize I am fully clothed. Whew! My worst nightmare just may be a fear of accidentally leaving the house au naturale. That seems a little dramatic but if you only knew my life you would understand my concern. Anyway, this silky tank top is everything ! It’s so easy to dress up or down and I’m here to show how.  I really love everything about this top: the color, the texture, the fit, and how it feels. I  regret not buying more, H&M really nailed this one. I created two looks featuring it, this is the first one (duh!) and the second one will be up tomorrow. Until next time…

Colors of the Wind

I spent last weekend in New York doing some styling work for an upcoming project, you’ll know more soon. I wanted an outfit that allowed me to be comfortable but also could transition into a complete day time look for activites like a brunch or lunch since we had an early call time. Boyfriend jeans are always my go to in this type of scenario because you can easliy dress them up or down and they are always comfy. I switched out my flats for these fun heels and was ready to go.We shot in some pretty cool places including this huge colorful wall which for some reason reminded me of the Disney’s Pocahontas song “All the Colors of the Wind” or at least I think it was called that. Nevertheless, it made for a great background and I love when things complement each other well. Until next time…

Hi y’all ! Welcome to 2015, I hope your year has gotten off to a great start ! I have many new ideas, collaborations and personal goals that I will like to share with you all this year (post coming soon). However, today, I will just be sharing this outfit.

It was quite a lazy day for me, I only ventured outside to take a short walk with my brother (the nice one) and decided to shoot some pics of my outfit. Even on days when I don’t have much to do outside my house, I still get fully dressed. I just love getting dressed, it is one of my favorite parts of my day not to mention playing in my closet is so fun. Lately, I’ve had a thing for big loose cardigans. The one I’m wearing is so warm, comfy and versatile. You can wear it soooo many ways and it looks great with pretty much any outfit.

* side rant: However, something not so fun is having my brother throw off my thought process while writing this post. He is sitting right next to me being completely obnoxious because he gets some kind of joy out of antagonizing me. Gotta love your siblings though*

We watched the sunset along the beach and yes it was freezing but beautiful. I’m a city girl at heart always but I do enjoy taking in the beauty of nature and that feeling of being “free” when outdoors. Speaking of being free my lazy day didn’t allow for any hair styling * whoops*. Whenever, I don’t want to deal with my thick curly hair ( which I do love most days) I just stylishly tie a scarf as a headband then randomly pin my hair up and voila! Let me know your go to “lazy day” hairstyle and current fashion favorites in the comments !

Caramel | A Casual Holiday Look

style.fashion.lay summersstyle.fashion.lay summersstyle.fashion.lay summers    DSCN3190 DSCN3191 style.fashion.lay summers

Hey all ! I just wanted to bring you a quick outfit post of what I wore for an afternoon out with one of my brothers ( i have two !) and his girlfriend. We had a chance to stop by Phillips Candy House and whoa it smells so AMAZING in there ! As soon as you walk through the door, I promise you your mouth will instantly water. Being a chocolate lover I like to indulge myself a little extra around the holiday season. I treated myself to a box of salted caramel chocolates and a fresh bag of walnut chocolate chip cookies while also picking up some treats for my brothers. Keeping it short and sweet today ( no pun intended !). I hope you’ll tell me how much you enjoy this look and your favorite holiday indulgence in the comments below !
